HSBC Introduces Laboratoires Guinot to Potential New Business Partners

Founded in France over 50 years ago by chemist René Guinot, Laboratoires Guinot is today Europe’s leading professional beauty aesthetic company. They provide a wide range of beauty care covering three main catagories – face, body and sun. While the company has expanded its retail operation, its roots remain in spas where its professional treatments began. As a result, they are always looking for new partners and new ways to support them.

A family business

In the last ten years, Guinot has developed an affiliate concept for its partners. “We are, of course, a family business. We feel our partners are a real part of that family,” says Edouard Falguières, France and International Affiliation Director. “The affiliate approach helps us better organise and control the quality of our distribution by offering beauty institutes and beauty therapists a range of services crucial to running their businesses efficiently.” This includes training, marketing and digital services as well as management and data analysis support services.

Expanding the distribution network

With a relationship that reaches back to 1984, HSBC has helped Guinot as they’ve expanded their distribution network to countries around the world. For instance, the company uses the bank’s franchising service in Great Britain and other markets, which provides financing for new franchisee partners and for creating new projects.

This service essentially puts us in touch with HSBC’s best, pre-validated clients who already hold franschise projects and for whom the bank thinks the professional beauty industry can be an a good fit for their area of activity.

Key events and opportunities

At the beginning of 2019, Guinot took part in HSBC’s three-day ‘Meet the Brands’ event in the US. “We travelled to New York, Dallas and Miami,"  Mr  Falguières says. "And connected with candidates HSBC selected based on their value as investors and their commercial merit." It’s events and opportunities like these that help Guinot continue growing their distribution network, which now includes more than 1,600 outlets in France and just over 15,000 worldwide.

What drives us is pride in our brand being present on all five continents through this network of franchisees.
