Samsung Pay

A digital wallet, also known as an e-wallet, stores all your payment details in one location. It can make it simpler for you to make cashless purchases online and in shops.

If you’re a HSBC Corporate cardholder, you can now add your HSBC Corporate Card to Samsung Pay.

Setting up Samsung Pay is straightforward. Please follow the steps under ‘How to add a card’ to securely save your Corporate Card information in the Samsung Wallet.

A digital wallet can make payments quicker. This offers:

• A single location for all your payment information, so you no longer need to remember several passwords and PINs
• Convenience – you can leave your actual wallet at home if you don't want to carry it around
• The ability to make payments online without having to fill in your payment details every time you want to make a purchase

Using Biometric log on such as your fingerprint or your face, are a secure way to log on to your mobile device.

Digital wallets use authentication and data encryption to protect your personal information, unlike a traditional wallet where someone can access your cards if they take it.

However, if you use a digital wallet, you should still take extra safety measures to keep your information safe.

These can include:

• Using a PIN or fingerprint identification protection on your smartphone
• Being vigilant about keeping track of card transactions made from your digital wallet.

HSBC Corporate Cards eligible for Samsung Pay, subject to status, are the following:

• Corporate Card
• Purchasing Card
• Fuel EV Card

If your device is lost or stolen, you can use ‘Find My Mobile’ feature to remotely lock or delete the data on your device.

To suspend or remove your HSBC Corporate Card from Samsung Pay, please call us on UK number 03456 015 934 (or +44 1226 261 053 if calling from outside of the UK). Alternatively, for local rate numbers please call the number found at the back of your card.

If you replace or update your device, you will need to add your card(s) to Samsung Wallet again.

Please ensure that you remove your HSBC Corporate Card from any device before selling, exchanging, or disposing of them. You should also remove your card if you temporarily pass your device to someone else; for example, if you pass it to be repaired.

You can remove a card from your Samsung Pay at any time.

To remove your card

1. Open Samsung Wallet on your phone, then tap the “All” tab, and then tap “Payment cards”
2. Select the card you want to remove, then tap “More options” (the three vertical dots)
3. Tap “Delete card”, and then choose a reason for removing the card if prompted
4. Tap “Delete”, and then enter your Samsung Wallet PIN or biometrics

To remove your card on your Smartwatch

1. On the watch, press and hold the Back button until Samsung Pay/Wallet launches
2. When prompted, input your PIN. If you have multiple cards, swipe the card you want to remove
3. Tap “More options” (the three vertical dots), tap Delete, and then tap the minus sign.

If your card is nearing expiry, a replacement card is automatically issued and the new card details are automatically updated in your Samsung Wallet.

If your card has been lost, stolen, renewed, or replaced you’ll need to make a chip & PIN transaction within the timescales below to continue using the digital wallet. If you don’t your digital wallet may be deactivated.

Lost or stolen card – Within 30 days of the date your card is reported as lost or stolen.

Renewed card – Before the expiry date shown on your old card.

Replaced card - Within 30 days of the date you ask us to replace your card.

Samsung Pay uses Tokenization and Samsung Knox to secure your card payment information. Additionally, your fingerprint or a 4-digit Samsung Pay PIN is required to authorise in-store purchases, or iris scanning on compatible devices.

To protect your card:

You must not choose a Samsung Pay PIN that can be easily guessed by anyone else or tell anyone else what your device passcode is; and you must ensure that you do not store anyone else's fingerprint or Iris scan within your Samsung device.

One-time passcode:

For security purposes, we may ask you to enter a one-time passcode to confirm your identity. This code is a unique series of numbers and will be sent via text. Once received, please enter the one-time passcode into the appropriate field.
